Arizona Botanical Journey A-Z in Fiber Series 2004©

Materials, construction and embellishments: Pima Cotton and Cotton Sateen material. Machine pieced, applique by hand and machine-sewn applique with fused heat set materials.
Surface design by Artist. Original computer digital image photography printed onto pre-treated cotton fiber with Ultrachrome inks. Watercolor touches are then added. All other fabrics are hand dyed with reactive fabric dyes. Design Surface of fabric with 'Design Masters' spray paints with thermal screen images.
Metal, glass and polished rock beads. Handwork embroidery with cotton dyed 5 count threads. Final touches using paint crayons and dye sticks, chalk and spray fixative.
Machine free-motion and hand quilted with cotton and poly-rayon threads. Cotton Batik backing and 'Warm and Natural' cotton batting.
